Approximately 20,000 BTC were simultaneously transferred from two Bitcoin (BTC) wallets that had not been active for 14 years.
According to crypto-specialized media The Block, the two wallets holding this large amount of Bitcoin each sent 10,000 BTC to a new wallet between the night of the 3rd and the early hours of the 4th (local time). The two transactions occurred 30 minutes apart, and there has been no confirmation of further transfers from the receiving wallets.
At the time of transmission in 2011, the volume was worth only about $7,800 based on the Bitcoin price then, but at the current price it amounts to a total of $2,180,000,000 (about 2,970,000,000,000 KRW). The Bitcoin value held in these wallets increased by about 139,828% over 14 years.
The media stated, "The exact purpose, actors behind the transfer, and whether the two wallets are owned by the same individual have not yet been revealed," and added, "Some in the market point out that close attention should be paid to the possibility of full-scale selling by long-term holders."
